Aside from a few that have trickled in this last week, we are basically done with Halloween 2022 orders on our Etsy shop, and now the REAL FUN begins! : )
But first, we sincerely want to thank all of our customers for the absolutely incredible support and reviews for our third year on Etsy. We were floored last year when we sold over 7 times the tombstones we sold in our first year of opening the Etsy shop (September 2020). This year we prepared to sell twice what we did in 2021, and almost sold out before we upped the production time to take our Halloween break! We really appreciate everyone’s support, and about a week or so after Halloween we’ll be back to standard production times (along with some new items for Christmas – stay tuned).
We’ll be doing a customer post here soon with photos they sent us or posted with their reviews of the Halloween Tombstones they purchased from our shop. So be on the lookout for that. We’ll also be sending out our first newsletter in mid-November, so if you haven’t already, sign up to get email updates from us!
I’ve actually been itching to set up Halloween in the yard since the first cool temps hit a few weeks ago. It’s been another long year, from both our day jobs and preparing for the Halloween sales season, and Halloween is always our time to cut loose and have some fun. We’ve been cooking up some ideas for new scares and decorations, and going to make as many as we can to include in the yard this year. One of them is likely to end up as a new item for the Etsy shop, but many of the other ideas are just for fun so we can scare the heck out of the neighborhood kids (and especially their parents…LOL). And some of them just may end up as how-to articles…
Since we’re just now starting to spookify the yard, we thought this post would be good to show some past Halloweens in this house. We bought this 1-acre property in 2019, and actually closed on it on Halloween day (and wrapped up at 10:31 am, not even kidding). As such, the first Halloween in this house was 2020, and man it was a REALLY GOOD one.
[Cue cheesy spooky music]…It was a Saturday Halloween with a full moon, and the temperature was perfect for wearing costumes and helping the fog from fog machines stick around longer. Still couldn’t get over the full moon, which was on display right above the house as you walked up – just pure Halloween awesomeness. We had 150 kids show up, a far cry from the 1500+ visitors we’d get each year in the previous house, but that was built up after 10 Halloweens there. Last year we had almost 300 kids visit. It’s growing and word is getting out, but we do expect less this year since Halloween is on a Monday.
In any case, here are photos from the last two Halloweens. Select any photo to view it in a popup. A slideshow will start to auto-play, and you can browse through photos in the popup by clicking on the far right or left arrows on each photo. Sorry for the captions, not sure how to hide that with this WordPress plugin just yet.
We’ll post this year’s pics around the first weekend of November once we get past cleanup!
